A High School Treat!

As you may have noticed on some of my previous blogs, I attempt to tell you about sporting events you may not know about. While, I have to say I have uncovered another treat. While channel surfing yesterday, (Monday) I found the high school basketball game of the week on Fox Sports Net North. It featured the Burlington Catholic Central Toppers vs. the St. John's Military Academy. Burlington Catholic is the number 1 ranked team in division 4. BCC also features a 6-1 guard named Rion Rayfield. Rayfield shoots 47% from three point land and scored 33 points last night with 7 three pointers. He has commited to North Dakota. After seeing his performance I wished he could decommit to North Dakota and go to Wisconsin. He would be just what Wisconsin needed; a consisitent outside threat, alla Clayton Hanson. St. John's is also ranked in division 2. St. John's (located in Delevan) features a sensational point guard by the name of Trevon Smith. Smith is a lightning quick 6-1 point guard, hailing from the Bronx. When Smith was in 8th grade he came to St. John's and has played there ever since. Last night he put on a hell of a performance. Even though he started off cold, he heated up and finished with 29 points. Besides his point production, he had many assists as well as a behind-the-back pass worthy of making Sportscenter's top 10. Smith is a true point guard who has committed to the Badgers. I believe he will help out greatly next year, because Kameron Taylor can play alot more two guard. The Badgers have experimented with that this year but Micheal Flowers is not an offensive threat. Smith is an above average scorer and a tremendous passer.
The week before on the high school game of the week was another Badger recruit 6-11 center J.P. Gavinski. So if you wanna see top Wisconsin high school athletes I suggest you watch next Monday's game of the week.
